What we do

Throughout 2012, The University of Newcastle Medical society will continue to fundraise for LEAP FROG, FAIR GO FOR KIDS. This organisation is based locally in the Hunter region and we are lucky to receive a lot of support from all of our medical students as well as the local community.

FAIR GO FOR KIDS is an initiative of Leap Frog Ability that aims to enhance the development and future wellbeing of disabled children in the Hunter region. They do this by dramatically shortening the time it takes for children to receive treatment, equipment or support. Being able to bypass waiting lists has a huge positive impact on the quality of life of children and their families receiving assistance.

Here is a snapshot of events we will be holding throughout the year in order to raise money and awareness for FAIR GO FOR KIDS:

CHARITY WELCOME BBQ
Tuesday the 28th of February, will see us holding a BBQ especially for 1st year students to introduce them to our UNMS charity and inform them of the many ways they can help out.

CHARITY TRIVIA NIGHT
On Thursday the 15th of March, we will not only be raising money for a great cause, but there will also be the chance to show off your trivia smarts and win some great prizes.

BUNNINGS BBQ
On the 11th of March and the 28th July we will be setting up camp in front of Bunnings Kotara, and selling as many snags as possible! We are confident that we will have numerous students keen to help us out!
