The Australian Medical Student Association seeks to represent all medical students in Australia, and international students are no exception to this rule. The International Students’ Network was established to better advocate for this group of students, especially where international medical student-specific issues are concerned. In 2012, the ISN is focusing on tackling the nationwide internship issue – in which international students are missing out on a chance to complete an internship in Australia on graduating.

At present, the ISN is urging international students to help develop a message that accurately represents the opinion of the international medical student population in Australia by taking a survey.
